Envision Films, Hartford HealthCare and Medscape Win 4 Emmy Nominations

Filmmaker, Jeffrey Teitler in collaboration with Hartford HealthCare and Medscape earn 4 Emmy Award Nominations.

The 46th Emmy® Award Nominations were announced April 20th from the National Academy of Arts And Television Sciences, Boston / New England Region.  It remains an extraordinary privilege to document the work, humanity and care within the medical arts.   We are extremely grateful  to our partners at Hartford HealthCare and Medscape, including Rebecca Stewart, Nick Dethlefsen, Anya Romanowski, Audrey Silver, Ken Robinson, William Sardella, Jonathan Gates, Greg Frani and Patricia Veronneau.  Most importantly, to our film participants: the gifts you give are entirely indelible and the highest honor to capture. 

Emmy Nominations were received in the categories of Health / Medical Short Form Content, Historical / Cultural – Short Form Content, Video Essayist and Best Original Musical Score:

GSW WOMEN: 

Within an ongoing epidemic of violence, the life-saving efforts, courage and resilience of these female practitioners and their health teams are unstoppable.  But, there is also a toll.  VIEW ON MEDSCAPE HERE. 

GSW Women was published on Medscape in Dec of ’22.  Captured as events unfold, trauma surgeon, Jane J. Keating, physician assistant, Ashley Weisse, and emergency nurse, Amber Langlois reveal America’s gun violence epidemic.    GSW WOMEN was produced in collaboration with Jeffrey Teitler, Envision Films, Medscape, Hartford HealthCare as well as Anya Romanowski, Rebecca Stewart, Nick Dethlefsen, Audrey Silver, Maria Del Sol and Peter Knox.   Maria Del Sol’s original music for GSW WOMEN also received an Emmy nomination for Best Original Score.

STATE OF EMERGENCYTHE NO JUDGEMENT ZONE was also nominated in the Health / Medical Short Form Content catagory.

Emergency physician, Cynthia Price, confronts the end of life, an ongoing pandemic and treats a transgender patient’s sudden paralysis.    STATE OF EMERGENCY was published in January of ’22 on Medscape.  It was produced in collaboration with Jeffrey Teitler,  Medscape, Hartford HealthCare, Anya Romanowski, Rebecca Stewart, Nick Dethlefsen, Audrey Silver and Peter Knox.

LEN JACOBS – STOP THE BLEED was nominated for an Emmy Award in the Historical / Cultural – Short Form Content category.  

Dr. Lenworth Jacobs spent much of his career as the Chair of Hartford Hospital’s Department of Trauma.  Yet, his work would reverberate to the White House and beyond, saving hundreds of thousands of lives and transforming the emergency care system.   STOP THE BLEED was published in October of 22 and premiered at the inaugural Lenworth Jacobs Trauma Symposium.  

NEIGHBORHOOD HEALTH was also nominated for an Emmy Award in the Video Essayist category.   

This group of medics, does not wait for a crisis.  They prevent it wherever it occurs.  Bringing, care tenacity and hope to some of Connecticut’s most vulernable areas, they redefine what healthcare can be.
